Canceled Transactions Metric Overview

Modified on Thu, Feb 15, 2024 at 11:42 AM

The Canceled Transactions metric incorporates null or canceled transactions for controlled medications. It is important to note that this metric is incorporated into the overall IRIS calculation; thus, it offers a more comprehensive view of cancellation behavior and potential diversion activity. However, you will notice that this metric does not have its own metric dashboard, nor does it appear in the side panel navigation menu. It is only displayed within the IRIS dashboard under the Detailed Risk Score Analysis panel as an additional metric.

The metric's description includes the following:

  • The total no. of canceled transactions.
  • The no. of canceled transactions for the top 3 departments.
  • The names of the most canceled medications for each department.

Investigate Data Page

For a deeper dive, you can select the metric to review the investigated data from canceled transactions.

The Investigate Data page displays the total number of canceled transactions in a department and the event summary cards for each transaction. Each event summary card displays the following information:

  • Provider Name
  • Patient IDs
  • Department Name
  • Canceled Date & Time
  • Order Number

Examining Metric Score Calculations

The following illustrations provide an example of how the Canceled Transactions Metric is calculated.

Export Canceled Transaction Data

Utilize the Download button to export data for canceled transaction events. This button triggers a dropdown menu that allows you to download a Detailed Transaction Report as a CSV file.

Note: This metric is only available for hospital sites that utilize either Omnicell or Pyxis. If your site utilizes a different system, please get in touch with our support team via email at support@bluesight.com for additional information.

Feature Enablement for Manager-level Users

As of February 1st, 2024, this metric will automatically be turned on for pre-existing user profiles who have IRIS Dashboard permissions enabled. However, for this metric to apply to new users, facility managers must select the Canceled Transactions metric checkbox under the Analytics Permissions section within the Security Roles page.
