Features

IRIS 2.0 Beta - Longitudinal IRIS & Activity Department Data

IRIS 2.0 is currently available to 23 beta hospital sites and this beta release is focused on incorporating department averages to the 6-month longitudinal IRIS chart and activity levels. The department average calculations create a benchmark that provides context on whether a user’s score is concerning because of their activities or if there is an overall department concern.

  • The IRIS Score Department Average will be calculated and visualized as a solid bar for each month.
    • This is calculated by taking all users who primarily worked in that department and calculating the average of their hospital IRIS scores.
  • The CS Dispense/ Shift Department Average will be calculated and visualized as a number for each month.
    • This is calculated by taking all users who primarily work in that department and calculating the simple average of their hospital CS dispenses/ shifts.

New IRIS Behavior Heuristic: Canceled Transactions (Beta)

Canceled Transactions will be available to 13 beta hospital sites, using either Omnicell or Pyxis! Specifically, IRIS will incorporate canceled transactions for controlled (audited) medications into IRIS scoring, offering a more comprehensive view of cancelation behavior and potential diversion activity.

    • total # of canceled transactions
    • # of canceled transactions for the top 3 departments
    • most canceled medications for each department
  • Users will be able to view & export specific canceled events for a department
    • View specific canceled transactions for a department by selecting the hyperlinked department description.
    • Export canceled events for a department with the “Download” button
  • Users will be able to view & export  all canceled events for all departments
    • View all canceled transactions by selecting anywhere outside the hyperlinked department descriptions
    • Export canceled events for all departments with the “Download” button

Increasing IRIS Trust with Default IRIS Date Range Hospital Setting

Hospitals want to ensure IRIS users are reviewed within a specific date range, determined by hospital policy & practices, and that files have been processed & events have been grouped. This hospital setting will default to the IRIS date range and include a file processing buffer, which can be customized based on hospital policies.

  • Both Nursing and OR will have this hospital setting
    • IRIS Date Range:
      • Last 30 days (This will be default and customizable)
      • Last 60 days
      • Last 90 days
      • Last 180 days
    • File Processing Buffer:
      • 3 Days (This will be default and customizable)
  • This setting will default the IRIS date range & incorporate a file processing buffer(or the number of days before the start and end date) for that individual hospital.
    • For example, my hospital’s IRIS date range is defaulted to “Last 30 Days” and file processing buffer is “3 days”. If I log into ControlCheck today (11/16), then the IRIS date range will be defaulted to 10/14 - 11/13.
    • Today’s Date (T) means I will view IRIS from T-33 through T-3.
  • By default, all existing hospitals will have the default settings below to maintain current functionality. Any changes will require the hospital(s) to create a support ticket.
    • Default IRIS date range: Last 30 Days
    • File Processing Buffer: 3 Days
  • New customers can adjust this hospital setting as needed during implementation.

Updates & Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where if a user with assigned summaries was deleted, it was causing errors when trying to reassign them.
  • Fixed an issue where if a provider had no identifiers in the source file it continued to show up in Unmapped Providers. These rows will now be quarantined.
  • We implemented a login redirect for users coming into the application from a bookmark. This improves the user experience when they try to access an area of the application after their session has expired.
  • Updated drop-downs across the UI to not show dropdown selection options if only one option exists for selection.

Upcoming Features & Bug Fixes (next release)

Release Xylometazoline (R160) - Week of 12-01-23
