Patient Auditing
The Patient Auditing feature in ControlCheck can be accessed via the Audit Table. This table is comprised of event summary cards that provide a summarized account of events within your facility. More specifically, you can use the Audit Table to complete the following tasks:
- Search for event summaries
- Filter, group, and sort event summaries
- Manage event summary cards:
- Update the status
- Email an event summary
- Assign an event summary to a user
- Review Related Events
- Edit Event Summaries
- Add notes

You can filter the event summaries that are displayed in the Audit Table by utilizing any of the following filters:

For many of the filters, you can select multiple options which allows you to drill down into individual events and view the information that you deem the most important.
To view all the filters in the filter section, select the Carrot icon to review all the filter options. To apply your filters select the Apply button and to erase your filters select the Reset All link.
Group By & Sort By Filters
The Group By filter groups events that are similar, based on the Secure Patient ID, Drug: A-Z/Z-A, or User: A-Z/Z-A. By default, No Group is selected. For example, if multiple nursing or anesthesia team members contributed to the documentation for one event summary, the variance will be listed under each of the users.
After you group the event summaries, you can use the Sort By option to sort within each group. You can sort by the following options:
- Date: Newest to Oldest/Oldest to Newest
- Secure Patient ID
- Drug: A-Z/Z-A
- Department: A-Z/Z-A
- Missing: Most to Least/Least to Most
- Notes: Made Newest to Oldest/Made Oldest to Newest.
For example, if I Group By Drug: A-Z and Sort By Patient A-Z, the selected drugs will display A-Z and events associated with each drug displays based on the patient’s last name A-Z. The Sort By default is Patient: A-Z.
You can also select the checkbox at the top of the event summary list to select all of the event summaries for one status at a time, except for the Closed-Bluesight status.
Best Practice Tip
To ensure the reconciliation of 100% of drug transactions, we recommend that review and action on any Variances listed in the Review Audit table take place daily, as causes of the unaccounted drug quantity are often easiest to determine sooner than later when users involved are most likely to remember the course of events leading up to the Variance.
