IRIS Med Trends: Multi-chem Drugs Added
A popular category of drugs of choice for some diverters are multi-chemical drugs, such as oral tablets that are composed of acetaminophen (aka Tylenol) and a controlled substance, like
Acetaminophen-HYDROcodone and Acetaminophen-oxyCODONE. ControlCheck User Analytics uses statistical modeling to highlight users who have abnormal patterns when it comes to interacting with controlled substances. The Med Trends report monitors which users have the highest amount of activity or exposure to controlled meds, in terms of either total mass, total units, or total number of events. We have previously excluded these drugs because of a complication with how ControlCheck tracks multi-chem drugs; they are stored in "units" rather than "mass" (mg, mcg, etc.) and therefore we could not report on them in the same way we do other drugs in the Med Trends report. Luckily, we have a Data Science team that is always up to redefine possible.
It was a Q3 goal of ours to include multi-chem drugs in the Med Trends report and we are pleased to release this powerful addition to IRIS. The Med Trends report will now report on a user’s Total Units and Total Events of a multi-chem drug for the other filters applied (Department, Event Type, and Date Range).
When you land on the Med Trends report, you can use the Drug filter to drill down on multi-chem drugs.
Multi-chem drugs can be reported in Total Units or Total Events; we are not able to report on average mass per event of these drugs because they are recorded in units. This limitation is noted in the tooltip at the top when viewing a multi-chem drug in the report.
We hope you like the updates we’ve made to the Med Trends report over the last few releases! To share your thoughts on the changes to Med Trends, send an email to our Product team or reach out to your Solutions Consultant.
Audit Page 2.0 Updates
We are gearing up for a final push to the finish line in Q4 to get our new and improved Audit page launched. This release features event summary cards!
We have moved event summary data out of a table view and into a “card” view. Each card represents one event summary, as seen below.
Upon click, the card will expand and display the details of the event summary. We still have some work to do but we are very excited to keep making progress on this complete audit overhaul.
Upgrades & Fixes
- HOTFIX Release: Fixed an issue that was incorrectly assigning a user’s role as a unique identifier to them and using the role type to match them to other users. This was causing the wrong user to be displayed on events.
- HOTFIX Release: Fixed an issue that was causing inaccurate red badge counts on the Location Mapper and Med Mapper tabs under the Manage tab.
- Fixed an issue that was causing inaccurate red badge counts on the User Mapper under the Manage tab.
- Fixed an issue that was misprinting the scale of the System Benchmarks report PDFs.
- Fixed an issue that was infinitely retrying malformed files.
