UPGRADES AND FIXES

Help Icon Moved to the Top Menu

As we gear up for our new audit page design, we are moving some things around. Last release, we widened the app and went full width. In this release, we moved the Need Help? button from the blue header bar at the top of every page to the top menu.

The Support Center can now be reached by clicking the question mark icon in the top menu.

IRIS Analytics Application Performance

In this release, the ControlCheck team worked to identify areas of improvement for IRIS page performance. ControlCheck analytics are a powerful way to spot anomalies in hundreds of thousands of data elements. We encourage our customers to spend as much time in analytics as they do auditing, and we understand that isn't always the easiest due to the speed of loading the IRIS Dashboard. When the IRIS Dashboard is first loaded, all of the users' scores are calculated for a fresh look at today's data. As our data size increases, application performance is impacted. To combat the rapidly increasing amount of data that IRIS is trying to load, we have put in three fixes in this release to reduce the load time of the IRIS Analytics pages. Larger sites with more data were the most impacted by IRIS slowness and we hope these fixes dramatically improve the user experience.

Older Event Summaries Re-surfacing on Audit Table

In this release, we have finalized a proof-of-concept for a new way of creating data aggregates in ControlCheck. Aggregates are a combination of the event data for a given patient, medication, and time frame. Whenever ControlCheck gets new information about a piece of data on a single aggregate, we send that aggregate back through the original reconciliation process to ensure the discrepancy status is as accurate as possible. New information about the data can mean a med being re-mapped, a location unfiltered, a user merged into another user, or patients being seen at the hospital more than once.

Often when a patient is seen at a hospital for more than one encounter, possibly months to years apart, ControlCheck will merge that patient's data together onto a single patient record. This behavior has started to cause some adverse effects and undesirable auditing experiences. We have been working on an update to this logic to ensure these old audits are not surfaced in this way. This update will stop this patient merging behavior that triggers the re-aggregation process.

We are moving this proof-of-concept into a beta testing phase and hope to roll it out to customer development partners in an upcoming release cycle.

Upgrades & Fixes

  • Increased the width of the user name cards on the Top Trending IRIS Users panel of the ControlCheck Dashboard.
  • Added minor updates to the IRIS score language that appears on a user's Detailed Risk Score Analysis card.
  • Fixed an issue with the System Benchmarks Time to Admin report that was displaying data for departments with waste data.
  • Fixed an issue with the deep linking for the Med Trends analytic. Upon clicking on the "Med Trends" option on a user's Detailed Risk Score Analysis card, the page would display with no results because the deep linking from the IRIS Dashboard to the Med Trends report was broken. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • Fixed an issue that was throwing an error when trying to map a user with no first name or with no last name. Unmapped users without either a first or last name can now be successfully merged to an existing user or a new user can be created for them and the missing name can be added and saved.
