Features
ControlCheck Formulary is Live for ControlCheck Manager Users!
This release features an important new addition to the Manage tab: the ControlCheck Formulary for your hospital. Giving end-users access to this data is essential in quickly resolving med mapping errors. Mis-mapped or unmapped meds can cause trickle-down effects on event summaries, the audit table, and analytics. Resolving these issues is now more streamlined than ever. Need to re-map, un-ignore, or change the package size of a med? Now you can grab the ControlCheck Med ID of the med in question and reach out to our Help Desk team for quick and easy resolution.
ControlCheck Manager Users can access their hospital's ControlCheck Formulary by clicking on the Manage tab and then selecting Formulary.
The Formulary will open to the Mapped Medications tab, which will show you all currently mapped meds for your hospital in ControlCheck. The meds ControlCheck receives from your hospital's source files (e.g. EPIC, Pyxis, Omnicell, etc.) are assigned a med ID in each of those systems; ControlCheck calls this the Source System Med ID. When ControlCheck processes one of your source files, the system identifies the med ID on the event and evaluates if it is mapped to a ControlCheck generic med or not. If it is mapped, it will process that event. If it is not mapped, it will surface that med name and med ID in the Medication Mapper tool. Once mapped, the med can be reviewed in the Formulary.
To view the Source System Med IDs assigned to a mapped med, click on the arrow in the row to expand. It is common to see more than one ID mapped to a ControlCheck generic because we want all of the variations of med names and med IDs for each med from the different source systems to refer to the same ControlCheck med during file and event processing. For example, a Fentanyl 50 mcg/mg vial would likely have a med ID and med name from the ADC, the EMR, and the narc vault. We want all of these med IDs to map to the same ControlCheck med for reconciliation.
To search on a specific Source System Med ID, ControlCheck Med ID, or Med Name, enter the search value into the search box. The results will automatically populate.
To download the Mapped Medications into a CSV, click the Download CSV button.
A CSV file will be exported that looks like the one below.
To view Unmapped Medications, or meds that are visible in the Medication Mapper queue, click the second tab.
To view Ignored Medications, or meds that have been ignored from the Medication Mapper tool, click the third tab.
To have a med un-ignored and moved to the Medication Mapper for mapping, reach out to our Help Desk and provide the ControlCheck Med ID of the med.
