User Role Filter Added to OR Analytics
ControlCheck has seen a benefit from bringing department-based peer comparison to the Nursing care area Analytics, a change from treating the whole care area as a single group. We understand that the practices of nurses in different units or departments will vary and we wanted to provide a way to drill down on analytics for the providers in a single department, or set of departments. We enhance IRIS and metric scores by creating a model of probable behavior shaped around peer groups expected to behave similarly. Features including department filters on all reports and department-specific reasons on the IRIS Dashboard enable ControlCheck users to focus on providers within their purview.
We are excited to bring that same concept to OR care area Analytics. In this release, we have worked to define peer groups based on provider roles such as CRNA or physician, rather than department. Role groups are relevant for categorizing OR providers and allow a desired level of granularity when viewing OR Analytics. ControlCheck users can now use a Role filter to compare one or more role groups at a time. Don't see OR Analytics in your User Analytics? Reach out to your Solutions Consultant for more information.
To view OR Analytics, hover over the Analyze tab in the top menu bar and select View User Analytics.
Select the OR tab from the top bar.
Select the desired report and time range for data. Let's use the IRIS Dashboard as an example. Using the Role filter, select the Role type you wish to compare. To compare Anesthesiologists to each other, select Anesthesiologist from the dropdown menu.
The results will now be filtered to only display Anesthesiologist users. This filter is extremely valuable for reports like Variance Trends where the discrepancies caused by Anesthesiologists are likely monitored differently than those of Residents, or Dispense Patterns where Physicians would tend to have fewer dispenses than their OR counterparts. In the Med Trends report shown below, we can see how the CRNAs all compare to each other, which easily identifies the providers that have practices that deviate from the norm for the CRNA peer group.
We are confident this functionality will allow for improved insight into the behaviors and practices of users in the OR.
Ability to Export Pharmacy Module Transactions and Summaries
ControlCheck offers the ability to reconcile discrepancies between pharmacy medication orders and loads into the central pharmacy or narc vault. In this release, we added the ability to download a CSV Summary or Detailed Transaction Report for the data in the Pharmacy module. We understand the value of exporting data from ControlCheck for internal reporting, reconciliation, and documentation needs.
To find the download option, hover over the Audit tab and select Pharmacy Audit. Don't see the Pharmacy Audit option for your hospital? Reach out to your Solutions Consultant for more information.
Select the desired time range and filters (e.g. drug, user, location) and click the Download button to the right of the status tiles.
ControlCheck users can select to download a Summary Report or a Detailed Transaction Report.
This feature works similar to the functionality of the Run Report page to allow for Pharmacy data exports out of ControlCheck. The Download button will be accessible from all tiles on the Pharmacy Audit page. Downloading reports from any tile (Open, Closed-Staff, or Closed-ControlCheck) will download the data from all tiles.
The Pharmacy Summary Report will detail the event summary ID, or Summary Reference, and pertinent information for the event summary, including drug, invoice number, date of order and load, user name who loaded the order into the narc vault, the values of the events on the summary, the status of the event summary (Open, Closed-Reconciled, Closed-Unreconciled, or Closed-ControlCheck), any comments left on the audit, and the location of the event summary.
The Pharmacy Detailed Transaction Report will detail the event summary ID, or Summary Reference, and pertinent information for the unique events on the summary, including drug, invoice number, date of order or load, the type of event it was (order or load), the quantity, and location of the event.
We are eager to make enhancements to this feature and to our Pharmacy module. Please reach out to our Help Desk or your Solutions Consultant if you have any questions or feedback on how we can improve.
