New Event Summary Grouping Logic

The ControlCheck team is extremely excited to introduce the new event summary grouping logic that we have been working on. This project attempted to solve one of the most pervasive issues to our users: variances spreading multiple event summaries because of events that occur outside of the cool-off period. We often see that with events like late waste, the current grouping logic will split those events off into different event summaries. This causes the audit table to be overly cluttered with event summaries that are not true variances, just poor documentation practices or extraordinary situations. With this new method the system will separate each event into its own bubble and attempt to close out as many loops as possible. There will be many more event summaries with events that might normally not get grouped together because of the cool-off period, creating more closed-ControlCheck event summaries that do not require manual auditing. For example, Alice dispenses 1 unit, one hour later Alice administers 1 unit; two hours later Bob dispenses 1 unit (cool-off is four hours). Ideally this one event summary would actually be two event summaries, where Alice's actions reconcile and Bob's do not.

Our current phase of the rollout for this new grouping logic is testing with a customer dev partner. Once we have cleared the testing with this dev partner, we release the changes to Production. This change will not be turned on for everyone all at once. We plan to slow-roll this change out because it will be such a significant shock to the system if not monitored carefully.  

• Alphabetical Sort to Investigation Collaborator Dropdown -

We received a request from a frequent user of the Investigations that it was difficult to locate the name of the person she wanted to add as a collaborator to investigations because the list in the dropdown was not sorted in any meaningful way. In this release, we implemented an alphabetical sort to the Collaborator dropdown for all hospitals. 

Upgrades & Fixes

• Fixed a bug that was causing a server error when trying to download the summary report with event summaries that had notes.
• Fixed a bug that was causing an overlapping display on the graph for the Full Package Waste report in Analytics.
