Pharmacy Module - Narc Vault to Patient Admin Loop

At ControlCheck, we are always striving to solve more problems for our customers. We are working to cover all aspects of the medication handling, from wholesaler inventory to patient administration. The goal of Pharmacy Module is to cover scenarios where the medication was ordered but never reached the narc vault, as well as scenarios where the medication was dispensed from the narc vault but never administered to a patient, wasted, or returned. These are possible scenarios where diversion can occur. Our customers are under strict regulations by local and federal governments to audit inventory counts. This data is often stored in many systems and is difficult to audit manually once a month, much less everyday.

The release featured a new aspect of the Pharmacy Module that will solve another piece of the puzzle to identifying diversion events: the direct dispense narc vault to patient administration loop. A hospital or hospital system can upload their pharmacy files containing narc vault direct dispenses, as well as wholesaler information and patient care information, and the system will aggregate the data to the correct module: either Pharmacy or Patient Care.

SFTP Upload

The ControlCheck Pharmacy Module now allows customers to upload files over SFTP, observe those events all aggregate to the proper auditing module, and close out clean loops, while highlighting missing or excess medication events in the audit table. This streamlined process provides customers the ability to meet their daily auditing needs.

Superfile

We have customers with complex data sets and sophisticated file processing needs. The release will provide users the functionality to upload a superfile, a file that contains patient care and pharmacy data, and potentially data for more than 1 hospital. Customers must upload this file over SFTP in order for the proper splitting and aggregation to occur. When a customer uploads a superfile, the system will isolate patient care events from pharmacy events and aggregate them into their respective modules accordingly. A customer can upload a file that contains information on what medications were ordered from the wholesaler, what medications were loaded into the narc vault, and what medications were administered to patients, and the system will close out the event loops and create open event summaries for loops that cannot close.
