Features

Med Trends V2

The original version of the Med Trends report had a relatively narrow focus: a per-provider visualization of each provider’s “Average Mass,” i.e. the total mass of drugs in their events, divided by the number of events.

The new focus adds Total Mass as front and center as the default, while also retaining Average Mass as an available option.

The two plots present different views of providers in a given combination of event type, drug, and department. The bar plot on the left gives a user an at-a-glance reference to the most unusual providers, The scatterplot on the right shows the same providers two-dimensionally, suggesting whether outliers are unusual in total events, chosen measure (total mass, average mass, etc.), or both.

The Med Trends section of the IRIS detail panel has also been updated to match the analytic, including bringing in the department peer comparison natural language that we rolled out in other metrics over the summer. Hovering over and clicking the event type will automatically filter the report to the chosen provider, event type, drug, and department.

Event Summary Status Change Permission

We are creating ways for Pharmacy and Nursing to more cleanly collaborate in reviewing and resolving discrepancies. Hospitals can now set a permission on a security role for changing the status of an event summary.

This allows them to separate the two main parts of the auditing workflow: recording comments on an event summary’s notepad after investigating it, and changing its state to Closed-Reconciled or Closed-Unable to Reconcile.

ControlCheck Managers can do this by creating a role for nurse managers or other staff handling discrepancy follow-up that does not have the permission enabled. The ES status change options will not be available in the ControlCheck UI for those users.

By default, the permission will be turned on for any existing roles and new roles that are created. Toggle it off from the Security Roles page.

Add Reconciled Date to Summary Report CSV

A new feature that allows users to track "time to close" for event summaries with a discrepancy. The summary report now has two columns to cover that:

  • Case Start Time
  • Reconciled Time
