Email Notification: You've Been Added as an Investigation Collaborator

Email notifications can be helpful for all sorts of reminders. Recently, we’ve added a notification to alert users when they have been added as an Investigation collaborator. It’s triggered when a user is added and lands in their inbox shortly afterward.

ControlCheck app users can manage their Notifications by accessing their Notifications page via the ControlCheck header-menu.

Look out for more types of Notifications like these in the future!

Sort by Latest Notes

We’re working on a series of small and mid-sized features and improvements to improve the auditing experience, especially when both pharmacy and nursing are collaborating to do that.

The ability to comment on Event Summaries by using the Notepad feature of the audit table has present in the app for some time now. App users use this feature to leave an audit-able trail of documentation when they investigate and/or close variances.

So far so good. But what if you want to get back to an Event Summary? Or what if you’re waiting for somebody else to review it and leave a comment?

We offer a way to make that go a little more quickly: an option to sort the Audit Table by Latest Notes.

Rebalancing Full Package Waste Score in the overall IRIS Score

We have had several customers mention that Full Package Waste has too much of an effect on IRIS. You may have noticed this yourself: a provider with the score for individual analytics in the yellow or green, but Full Package Waste in red - often for a very small number of waste events! The ControlCheck Data Science teams tweaked the algorithm to reduce the influence of these small waste counts, and bring them more in line with reality.

Pain-Related Research in ControlCheck Labs

Did you know that our Data Science team has an entire sandbox where they can test out their latest work? Introducing ControlCheck Labs! Labs is an area within the ControlCheck application users can see what the latest type of analytics our team is working on. The analysis is completed on your dataset for the last 30 days.

As a sneak peek, our latest research added to Labs is around Pain Related Analysis. Ideally, painrelated metrics should decrease for an individual patient over time with regard to dosage amounts, frequency, pain scores, and moving from IV to oral admin.

Contact your Account Manager if you're interested in turning on Labs.

Historical Data Upload

Did you know ControlCheck has the ability to load historical data? As we continue to research actual diversion events at ControlCheck hospitals, we’ve added functionality that now allows us to accept historical data covering diverters whom hospitals discovered before implementing ControlCheck.

Contact your Account Manager if interested and let’s chat to see how soon IRIS would’ve highlighted these individuals.

Investigation Portfolios

Investigation Portfolios provides hospital partners the ability to initiate an investigation on a provider, update progress notes as part of the investigation, add collaborators and attachments, and monitor the progress of the investigation as it relates to hospital policies and procedures.

Have you added your Investigation Resources yet? Investigation Resources could be policies and procedures, flowcharts, and helpful documents for users that are part of ControlCheck Investigations. Add them from the Manage tab and they will be attached to all existing and new Investigations moving forward.

Provider Snooze

Sometimes a users behavior underlying a high score has a reasonable explanation when you can see the full context. Maybe a nurse has a small waste network because they’re stuck on a shift that only ever has the same small group of nurses on it. Maybe the Chief of Anesthesia is working cases but has someone else always completes their documentation. These are behaviors that are perfectly reasonable given something that’s outside of our data.

They’re false positives. That’s where Snooze comes in, giving ControlCheck app users the ability to (temporarily) set aside a particular provider.

Once a user is Snoozed, that sends our algorithms a message that this behavior is OK and we recalculate all other the other users IRIS ranking and move the Snoozed user to the bottom of the list.

Find the Snooze link from the IRIS Dashboard and temporarily set a provider aside for up to 30 days.
