Saying *Good-bye* to Audit 1
Audit 1 is officially a thing of the past! Audit 1 served us really well but ControlCheck has grown so much as a product and we want to make sure our technology is modern and upgraded to give our users the best possible experience. Audit 1 was forcing us to lug around outdated code and the design did not allow us to add exciting new features. The design of Audit 2 gives us room to grow and expand the auditing user experience and functionality while modernizing our application and backend technology.
Audit 1 will not be accessible in any way and the link has been removed from the help-bot on the Audit 2 page. If a user tries to manually enter the URL, the page will not load.
Have questions about something in Audit 2? Click on the Help icon and find the Audit 2.0 Patient Care Audit section under the Knowledge Base for more information.
Map Multiple Medication Identifiers
Managers can map two or more medication identifiers to the same ControlCheck medication at the same time so that they don’t have to map each source system med ID one by one. This will save our new customers in implementation a ton of time with manual med mapping.
Earlier this year, ControlCheck added audit support for new form factors such as suppositories. Customers that were already live with ControlCheck before this support was added, likely had all of their controlled suppository drugs ignored. To get those ignored medication identifiers mapped, a Manager user had to map at least two drug identifiers per suppository: one from the EMR and one from the ADC. With this update, a user can map all the necessary source system med IDs that tie to a single ControlCheck med in one swift workflow. Let’s use a `HYDROMORPHONE 3 MG RECTAL SUPPOSITORY` as an example.
To get started, navigate to the Formulary page under the Manage tab and click Ignored Medications. Type in a keyword like supp
to find similar options to map. For this example, we’ll be mapping four drug identifiers from different sources to the same ControlCheck medication. The identifier 6980
is from the ADC; the 12030
is the ERX drug ID from the eMAR system; and 00574-7224-0
and 00574-7224-06
are NDCs ordered from a Wholesaler. All four of these identifiers associate to a HYDROMORPHONE 3 MG RECTAL SUPPOSITORY so we will map them all at once together. Select all four identifiers using the check boxes in the first column and click Map Medications.
There are no existing generics in this hospital’s ControlCheck formulary that match the Hydromorphone suppository so we will select from the full list to create a new one.
Search for a Hydromorphone Suppository with the 3 mg concentration. Enter the package size of the 3 mg suppository and select the desired Audit State. Click Map Identifier
to complete the mapping.
To confirm that all four identifiers are now mapped to the Hydromorphone suppository, filter or search for the med you just mapped and expand the row to see the Source System Med IDs.
Updates & Fixes
- Fixed an issue with event summaries that were producing an Internal Server Error from the Audit and/or Run Report page. This issue prevented some event summaries from being moved to a closed state or saving a note.
- Fixed an issue with the form factor Supply showing up in IRIS User Analytics. Some hospitals are auditing medical supplies, such as PCA lockbox keys, and they were unexpectedly showing up in Analytics. This form factor is excluded from User Analytics at this time.
- Fixed an issue with the time formatting of Time Loaded on load events on the Pharmacy Audit table. The times will now be shown on the 24-hr clock; e.g. a load event at 2:30pm will be displayed as 14:30.
- Fixed a minor issue with the sort of events on the same day, for the same user, drug, and patient. If two event summaries have these same values, then we will show the event summaries in a chronological order; meaning, the event summary that has the earliest event on that date will be sorted above the event summary with later event times.
- Updates to the automated med mapping workflow to map medical supplies with valid NDCs.
