Updates to Detailed Transaction and Summary Reports

ControlCheck users can download CSV exports from the Run Report and Investigate Data pages today that include information about audited events. Customers use these reports for a variety of different use cases: to perform weekly or monthly analysis on Locations or Users variances, to analyze the Notes and Reconciled Date/Reconciled By information to perform audits of variance investigations, and many more.

We wanted to take a moment to update these reports to get the system ready for the new User Role types we will be adding in an upcoming release. Customers have been requesting new user roles to map their providers to in ControlCheck, with the strongest use case being the need to differentiate staff RN from Float and Travel nurses, specifically in IRIS Analytics data. Adding new role types has an impact on the Detailed Transaction and Summary Reports because we were previously displaying a single column for each role type and would populate the user’s name in that designated role column, per their mapped role type. This design did not leave much room for growth so we have reworked the column ordering and format for user roles to ensure the report can accommodate a long list of new role types.

You'll notice that in the Detailed Transaction Report, the the Provider and Role columns now fall next to each other in columns D and E. We will display the name of the user on the event in the Provider column and will display their role in the Role column.

In the Summary Report, the Provider and Role columns now fall next to each other in columns B and C. We will display the name of the user(s) on the event in the Provider column and will display their role(s) in the Role column. If an event summary has more than one event, and therefore potentially has more than one user to display in the report, we will present a comma separated list of the users by their name in the Provider column and will display a comma separated list of the users’ roles in the same order as the users are listed in column B.

For example, in this example Event Summary ID 1544878 below, there are two users on the summary that each have different roles. In the Summary Report, we list their names and their roles in comma separated lists.

These changes have been applied to the CSV exports available from Run ReportInvestigate Data, and Validation Buddy (Admin Tool).

Updates & Fixes

  • Enhancements to user ID matching to ensure the right users are associated to Patient Care and Pharmacy events when two or more users share the same name. Please note that ControlCheck must be receiving user ID data from your source systems in order to use this data to uniquely identify two users with the same name.
  • Enhancements to overall application performance.
  • Fixed ongoing issues when merging patient records together. This fix aims to ensure that false variances are not created by a split patient record.
  • Fixed an issue with the Assignment filter not working after an event summary is edited with the filter active.
  • Fixed an issue with misaligned data elements on the Pharmacy Audit table.
  • Fixed an issue with the Pharmacy Audit page reloading every time a user clicked into the Event Summary Id search field, even if they did not enter a search value.
  • Fixed an issue with files that get stuck in processing when an unmapped user from the file is mapped before the file finishes processing, causing the file to get stuck.
