Changes in Behavior Over Time Dashboard
To assess whether there have been changes in the behavior of users at your facility, this metric compares an individual's behavior patterns to his or her peers. This metric can track changes in the weekly number of variances created by a user. To first assess a user, it will create a baseline activity snapshot. This snapshot identifies the thirty most similar users to the target user and establishes a "norm". The investigation window compares the target user to the norm to assess if and how the user's activities vary from their peer group. This comparison means that changes in the activity patterns of low-volume users are not obscured by large-volume users. It will also track users who gradually diverge from their peer group.
Finding Unusual Changes in Behavior
The screenshot below illustrates one out of a list of ten users within a facility who experienced the most significant changes in behavior compared to their baseline peer cohort.
The orange-shaded section on the left of the graph is the baseline snapshot from which the norm is calculated. The unshaded area on the right is the investigation window. The x-axis represents time. The number of variances recorded by the target user is indicated by the red line. This count signifies the number of variances recorded in the prior seven days and removes the dips that accompany lowercase volumes on weekends or nursing work schedules with several days on, then off.
The blue line represents the average variance count of the target user's peer group. The shaded blue area around the blue trend line illustrates the degree of variability within the peer group. The relative distance between the red line and the shaded blue area is indicative of the target user's behavioral change compared to the group.
