Dashboard Overview
If you flag a user's behavior as suspicious or someone submits a report, you can open a Case for that user in ControlCheck. When you open a case, that Case Portfolio is added to the user's portfolio.
Click Case on the navigation bar to review a list of case portfolios on the Cases Dashboard. The dashboard gives you an overview of all users with cases and allows you to open each one and view details on the user's case.
An additional feature on this dashboard is the Open Case button to the right of the filters. This button allows you to easily open a new case from the dashboard. Why might a user open a new case? There are several scenarios that could prompt this.
- There is an IRIS user with an open IRIS review
- There is an IRIS user with an existing case
- There is an IRIS user who does not have an open IRIS review or case but needs one
- There is an IRIS user that has both an open IRIS review and an existing case

This panel forwards you to the Case Oversight Dashboard which provides a high-level view of the actions taken over the past six months in your facility's case workflow.
Cases List
The Cases List presents all of your cases in a user-friendly format by assigning each case a unique identification number known as a 'Case ID' or 'ID'. Similar to the Event Summary ID associated with the Audit Table, this identifier is distinctive and specific to each case.
All of the data presented in the list aligns with the filter options previously discussed. Irrespective of a case's status, you can revisit a case for auditing purposes by selecting the blue Carrot icon situated to the right of each entry.
Cases Access
Only users with specific permissions can view and/or edit cases in ControlCheck. Said users must have accounts with one of the following security roles:
- Viewer
- Collaborator
- Owner
- Admin
To learn more about these security roles, manager-level users can review the Security Roles - Cases Access article to learn how to update user permissions via the Manage tab.
