It's Time to Say 'Good-bye' to Audit 1.0!
The Review Audit 1.0 page will be sunset on Friday, June 30, 2022. Please note that we've updated the Audit page URL to https://app.ControlCheck.com/#/audit-review. This is the final URL for the Audit page. With this sunset of Audit 1.0, we have also retired the review-audit URL.
Patient Merge Sanity Check on MRN
One of the biggest pain points to our ControlCheck system is Super-patients. In this release, we are introducing a new sanity check in the code before two or more patients are merged together. This logic is only tied to the MRN patient identifier at this time. In the real world, patients are typically given one, unique MRN (Medical Record Number). That MRN is unique to the patient at that particular hospital, sometimes within the entire hospital system, and is used again if the patient ever returns to the same hospital. We don't expect a real-life patient to ever have more than one MRN (the same cannot be said about FINs and names), so we have added a check to count the number of MRNs on a ControlCheck patient record before merging another patient identifier (and the events that go along with it) onto the record.
Let's say a hospital is using a placeholder Order Number like 123456789 for patients that do not have a real Order Number. If that value is used for more than one patient, and that hospital is using Order Number as a matching patient identifier type, then we will merge together all patients and events that have Order Number 123456789. With this new sanity check, before we merge those patients and events together, we will evaluate how many MRNs that patient would have if we were to perform the merge. So if patients A, B, and C all have an event with Order Number 123456789, but they each have a unique MRN, then we can provide a better outcome in that scenario and not create a super-patient. If the patient is going to have more than one MRN, then we will not perform the merge.
Upgrades & Fixes
- Hotfix 122.1
- Fixed an issue with event summaries that had more than one generic drug on them. The bug was causing the event data on the event summary to not properly display so this issue was hot-fixed immediately following R122.
- Hotfix 122.2
- Fixed an issue that was introduced by the Auto Resolve PF Documentation Errors - Pharmacy Module feature in R122 for multi-chemical drugs. It was discovered that the feature did not function as expected for multi-chem drugs in the pharmacy module and was incorrectly merging multiple events into one summary. The fix was introduced to bypass the new logic introduced in R122 for multi-chem drugs until we are able to solve this new feature for them. At this time, this new feature Auto Resolve PF Documentation Errors - Pharmacy Module will not auto-resolve PF discrepancies for multi-chem drugs. We plan to address this in a future release; no ETA at this time. Reach out to the ControlCheck Product team for more details.
- App-wide updates to typography to more closely align the user interface and design of ControlCheck for Controlled Substances with ControlCheck Insights. This is a complement to our updates to the overall color scheme of the app.
- Fixed an issue with event summaries that would not load if there was an event on the summary that was missing an event type. Note that the fix allows the event summary to load with the blank event but the event does not contribute to the status of the event summary.
- Fixed an issue with the Pharmacy Module to prevent the phrasing 'No loaded events found' from incorrectly displaying when the event summary does have at least one load event.
- Fixed an issue with the Reset Filters button on the Pharmacy Audit page not resetting the date range back to the default setting.
- Fixed an issue with the Pending Patients tooltip on the Medication Mapper page displaying the incorrect help text.
- Removed Audit 1.0 from the Demo environment for all users and accounts.
- Replaced the Invoice Time field on Pharmacy Invoice events with Date Invoiced to just display the date the invoice was received because we do not typically get the time of invoice from the automated Wholesaler Invoice data feed over EDI.
- Updated the date picker on Audit 2.0 to allow for a better UX for manual date selection and unique date inputs.
- Updated the Manager File Uploads page for the automated Wholesaler Invoice data feed over EDI to prepare the feature for launch.
- Updated the Investigate Data to Audit review workflow to be more streamlined; when a user clicks on an event summary ID link from an audit card on the Investigate Data page, the Audit page will open in a new tab, with that ES ID pre-filtered to on screen for the user.
- Added support for infusion New Bag events documented with a weight-based rate like mcg/kg/hr.
Upcoming Features & Bug Fixes
Release 124 - Week of 07-12-22
- Enhancements to the automated Wholesaler Invoice data feed over EDI to prepare the feature for launch.
- Ability to 'select all' Departments with the click of one checkbox when creating new user Security Roles.
- Adding an 'Assignment' column to the Run Report page to display all actively assigned users on an event summary.
- Miscellaneous bug fixes.
Release 125 - Week of 07-26-22
- Ability to re-reconcile pharmacy events and auto-resolve false variances caused by incorrect med mapping. When an NDC is split and remapped to a new ControlCheck med or a Wholesaler Multiplier is changed on a medication used in the pharmacy module, a user can choose to re-reconcile the events for that medication identifier to auto-resolve past variances created.
- Ability to automatically map new, unmapped NDCs seen in the automated Wholesaler Invoice data feed over EDI.
- Ability to easily run a report for a certain provider directly from the Audit event summary cards.
- Upgrades to the Shift Analysis v2 Report that incorporates Kronos Time and Attendance data.
