Enhancements to the Edit User Mapping Page

ControlCheck is proud to announce the latest feature update to its Edit User Mapping page. With this update, Manager and Admin users can now see all the information that ControlCheck has for a particular Mapped User, including their name(s), IDs, and roles. This will make it easier for users to correctly map and merge users, ensuring that the right user is on controlled substance events and being scored in IRIS Analytics.

Before this update, ControlCheck did not display all of the collected data on users from event source files in the UI consistently or comprehensively. This made it difficult for Manager and Admin users to use an identifier from seen in ControlCheck to confirm that same user in their internal source systems. This ambiguity about the Mapped User prohibited the Manager user from being able to properly advise how to separate out merged users. Two or more users being merged into one means that the user’s IRIS score is conflated and inaccurate. This makes both the auditing and analytics workflows confusing and frustrating.

With this update, User Identifiers and Other Identifiers will now be displayed on the Edit User Mapping page, allowing Manager and Admin users to review all available identifiers that ControlCheck has for a mapped user.

User Identifiers will display values such as a User ID that we have for a given user. If ControlCheck does not receive a User ID for users from your source files, such as an Omnicell User ID, it is common to see just a user’s name listed here is their identifier.

Other Identifiers will display supplemental information we have about the user, such as credentials, metadata, roles, or other uniquely identifying identifiers we have for the user. If there are none on record, then we will display None.

This information is currently read-only, but ControlCheck will soon provide Admin users the ability to split a User Identifier(s) from a mapped User if two or more users were incorrectly merged together from that identifier.

This update will make it a little more simple for Managers who want to update user’s ControlCheck Role with the addition of new user role types from last release. The added identifier information helps make the Manager more confident they are editing the right user.

Updates & Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with events showing up on the Audit and Run Report pages that do not have a valid event type for auditing (e.g. Verify Inventory Count). These events should be filtered from view because they don’t have a valid event type.
  • Fixed an issue with the button to map a Location to a Department in the Location Mapper not responding as being selected when clicked.
  • Fixed an issue with saving notes that might be the cause of intermittent errors users experience with saving notes on the Audit page or in an Investigation Portfolio. Please continue to reach out to help@bluesight.com to report issues with saving notes in ControlCheck so that we can troubleshoot.

Upcoming Features & Bug Fixes (next release)
