Features

Enhancements to IRIS Full Package Waste Report

In this release, we have added information to the event summary detail on the Investigate Data pages for Nursing and OR IRIS Full Package Waste reports. Our goal is to provide a more clear user experience when reviewing these waste transactions and allow for exportable data to be leveraged for investigations into users’ activity and correcting workflow issues.

Added a Full Packages Wasted Count Column to Investigate Data

When you view event summaries that fed into a user’s Full Package Waste score on the Investigate Data page, you will now see a new column called Full Packages Wasted. We will display the total count of full packages wasted for the event summary at the top level and will also display a count on each individual waste event that is one or more full packages wasted. For example, if there are two unique waste events that each waste one package, you will see a 1 on each waste event row and a 2 at the top-level count. If there are two partial waste events that are part of an integrated waste workflow, you will see a decimal amount like 0.5 on each partial waste event and a 1 at the top-level count.

Please note that this additional column and information is only visible on the Investigate Data page when viewing event summaries and is not displayed on the Audit page.

Added Full Packages Wasted Count Columns to CSV Exports

We know that being able to export this information out of ControlCheck is important for a variety of use cases so we are pleased to add this Full Package Waste information to the exportable CSV reports available from the Investigate Data page as well.

When you view the Investigate Data page from the Nursing and OR Full Package Waste reports, you can download a Summary Report of all the event summaries on the page.

You will see a new column T called Full Packages Wasted that will display the total count for the event summary. This count will be consistent with the top-level count seen on the event summary cards from the Investigate Data page.

When you view the Investigate Data page from the Nursing and OR Full Package Waste reports, you can also download a Detailed Transaction Report of all the events on the page.

You will see a new column L called Full Packages Wasted that will display the count of full packages waste for each eligible waste event on the summary. This count will be consistent with the event-level counts seen on the event summary cards from the Investigate Data page.

Please note that this additional column and information is only visible on the Investigate Data page when downloading event summary reports and is not displayed on the CSV exports from the Run Report page.

Updates & Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with event summary amounts for infusion cases when there was more than one New Bag admin event on the summary.
  • Fixed an issue with XLSX files that had a row count of exactly a multiple of 500 and would get stuck in a processing state.
  • Fixed an issue with pending Pharmacy events incorrectly being held up by unrelated unmapped medications.

Release 142 - Week of 03-28-23

  • A fix to address an issue with the sort of Average Mass per Event not sorting correctly on the IRIS Analytics Med Trends report.
  • A fix to address an issue that caused the ES ID on the Audit cards to become a hyperlink and open the ES ID in a new tab in the Event Summary Search. The ES ID on this page should be easily copy and past-able.
  • Minor enhancements to the new Full Package Waste information on the Investigate Data page in IRIS User Analytics reports.
  • Updates to Infusion auditing in ControlCheck:
    • In this release, we are making a change to how dispense, admin, and return events are captured for continuous infusions. For Epic hospitals that are currently auditing infusion meds at their site, events will be able to auto reconcile with unit-dose reconciliation. For example, if a user dispenses a continuous drip product and documents a New Bag action on the patients eMAR, then we will display 1 unit for each event and auto resolve the case. If there is no corresponding admin or return for a given dispense, then we will display a variance of 1 unit for that case.
    • Automatically updating all mapped Infusion medications to have a package size of 1 unit so that events auto reconcile even for continuous infusion products that have variable concentrations and package sizes.
    • In order to ensure a high quality customer experience, we’ve made the decision to disable infusion auditing for non-Epic customers. We look forward to partnering with Cerner and Meditech customers in the near future to learn how we can best support visibility into infusion data for customers using those source systems.
