Features

Event Summary Regrouping

Event Editor is officially Generally Available! With this release, we added a new permission, ‘Event Summary Regrouping’, to Security Roles.

Any user that has Full Access security role will inherit the Event Summary Regrouping permission. Manager users will need to update the security role for those users that should not have this functionality.

If you haven’t read previous release notes, here is a recap: Event Summary Regrouping allows specific users with the permission to change how ControlCheck grouped events. This allows users to “correct” ControlCheck in the situation where a human would’ve grouped the events together differently than the system. This includes:

  • Breaking down a single event summary in any status to multiple event summaries and/or creating new summaries
  • Creating new event summaries from more than one existing event summary
  • Grouping events on medications of the same equivalent (e.g. can now group Injectable dispense with an Infusion admin)
  • Changes in Run Report to report on what was edited by who and when
  • Specific functionality for Patient Care summaries only

The Event Editor feature allows users to easily find event summaries that go together and close them with a single click. No more tedious note-taking, “fake linking”, and manual input of ES IDs in different events. As well as no more wasting time changing sorting, opening and closing cards, or navigating to Run Report.

Certain workflows that create multiple variances with existing ControlCheck logic (such as injectable dispensed/infusion administered, back charting, generic patient profiles, and narc kits) are now easier to deal with thanks to the new Event Editor feature saving you time and eliminating the frustration of improperly grouped events.

Any grouping changes require a Note to be left to provide some reasoning as to why the grouping change was made. New groupings are immediately updated with ControlCheck re-calculating the math to determine if medication is missing. Since IRIS refreshes daily, users scores that are impacted by the affected summaries will update the next day.

Updates & Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where if a user is in a different time zone than the hospital they are viewing data for, there was a discrepancy in the date shown for events on the pharmacy and patient care audit table.
  • Users can move event summaries from Closed Bluesight to the Open state.
