IRIS Worklist Review Best Practice

Access to IRIS Worklist

The IRIS Worklist is enabled/ disabled via a hospital setting for both care areas (Nursing & OR). Customization for user flagging & cool-off period is available at each care area.

  • IRIS Worklist enabled:
    • IRIS Worklist will replace IRIS 2.0 (or IRIS 1.0) for both Care Areas
    • User Flagging and Cool-Off (default 30 days) will be enabled and can be modified
      • If User Flagging is disabled, cool-off will remain enabled so that application users can manually review users with a cool-off period applied
  • IRIS Worklist disabled:
    • end users will use IRIS 2.0 (or IRIS 1.0) for both Care Areas
    • User Flagging and Cool-Off (default 30 days) will be disabled and cannot be modified

  • User Flagging enables ControlCheck to automatically flag a red IRIS hospital user for review.
  • Cool Off period sets the # of days before ControlCheck can flag a “Reviewed” user for another review.

Reviews & Investigation tab

Centrally view all IRIS reviews (and investigations, if applicable) on an IRIS user to quickly contextualize historical review activities & outcomes.

  • Selecting an IRIS Review displays all relevant notes & attachments
  • Selecting an Investigation navigates to the investigation portfolio
  • Investigation visibility and navigability from the Reviews & Investigation tab depends on Investigation Permissions:
    • No Access → no ability to see any investigations
    • Collaborator and Owner → ability to see investigations they have access to
    • Admin and Viewer → ability to see all investigations

Open Investigation Reasons

Open an investigation (depending on Investigation Permissions) from the IRIS Worklist with updated open investigation reasons.

  • Open Investigation Reasons:
    • Bluesight Data
    • Colleague Reported
    • Patient Reported
    • Self Reported
    • *Routine Surveillance: We no longer need to support this option with the IRIS Worklist since all routine IRIS reviews will now be conducted within IRIS Analytics. Reviewers will no longer need to open an investigation to conduct an IRIS review, document notes, etc.*
  • Only Owners and Admins can open investigations

“Diversion Suspected” outcome from IRIS Reviews

When an IRIS user is moved to “Reviewed” with “Diversion Suspected” outcome, we support smooth transitions into the Investigation workflow:
