Features

Prism

Prism + Pain Scores

Prism can now access Pain Score events. Prism understands what a pain score is and how pain score events connect within ControlCheck, and it can search pain score events, for example to pull lists of pain score events by provider.

Multi-Hospital Provider Support

Improved Prism's multi-hospital provider investigations. Because providers can exist across multiple locations, Prism now looks up a provider's linked records at other hospitals, enabling a more seamless investigation experience.

New Status for Patient Care Audit Table - In Progress

When several people work the Audit Table at the same time, it's hard to tell which event summaries (ESIDs) someone is actively working on, even if they have been assigned. Until now an ESID was either Open or already reconciled, so a team had limited avenues to show that a colleague was already working on one.

The new "In Progress" status fixes that. Reviewers can mark an ESID as being worked, and the Audit Table can be filtered by that status, so teams can see what's claimed and what still needs attention. While an ESID is In Progress, it is also protected from changes such as medication-mapping updates, so the record doesn't shift while someone is reviewing it.

This update touches a number of areas, here’s a summary of it’s behavior:

Audit

  • Event Summary cards have a new checkbox to transition the summary into the "In Progress" status
  • The Audit Table can be filtered to Event Summaries with the "In Progress" status
  • When disabling the feature, all "In Progress" Event Summaries at the time of the change will transition back to an "Open" status

Analyze

  • Variance Trends IRIS Metric treats "In Progress" status Event Summaries the same as those with an Open Status (i.e. no functional change to how the metric page displays or the metric is calculated).

Reporting

  • Transactional reports will accurately list “In Progress” as a status associated with an event summary.
  • The Documentation Accuracy report supports the “In Progress” status
  • The Audit KPI report can now contain a column listing quantities of Event Summaries with the "In Progress" status applied.
  • The Audit KPI calculations treat "In Progress" status Event Summaries the same as those with an Open status. This would have impact on a calculation like "Days Open > X days

How can I enable this feature at my organization?

  • Contact your Bluesight CSM or Support team to enable the new status
  • By default, this setting is off. You will not see a change to your ControlCheck setup upon this release.
  • This feature MUST be applied to all locations within your IDN. It cannot be enabled at some while disabled at other locations.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where hospitals on the ControlCheck Basic subscription could still reach Related Events and Event Editor through the analyze tab since Basics doesn't include audit or state-changing functionality.
