Timing Rules in ControlCheck

The list below presents a variety of timing rules for events and actions within ControlCheck. 

Grouping RN & OR Events

• ControlCheck allows for 4 hours for nursing-related events from the first to the last event when grouping open events.
• ContolCheck allows for 12 hours for OR staff-related events from the first to the last event when grouping open events.

Administration (Admin) before Dispense

• ControlCheck allows for admins to be given 10 minutes before a dispense.

Cinderella Rule

• ControlCheck will hold dispenses without admins from the Open Audit Table if they are after 10 PM until the admin file is received for the following day.
• Example: A dispense that occurs at 23:05 on 02.27.24, will be withheld from the Open Audit Table until the admin for 02.28.24 comes in on the EMR file on 02.29.24.

Admin Timing

• Administrations are captured by the given date/time.
• If an admin is recorded in EMR after a report is run, the admin will NOT be captured in the query.

Temporary Patients

• If temporary patients are merged the next day, they will not be captured in ControlCheck.
• The site needs to have an external audit process for temporary patients outside of ControlCheck.
